PAINT CORRECTION SPECIALISTS IN HOUSTON
Paint correction is when we use machine polishers, combined with different compounds, polishes, and pads, to remove 80% or more of the swirls and scratches in your paint work. This will bring out the maximum gloss and clarity in the paint and make your car look better than when you first bought it.
Whether you have a brand-new vehicle or a heavily used vehicle, chances are, your paint is filled with swirls. If you want your car in the best condition, getting the vehicle corrected and polished will definitely help with that.
You can also get your car ceramic coated or take it up a level with paint protection film (PPF).
However, that doesn’t mean every swirl or scratch can be removed. When we polish paint, we’re not just thinking about going for perfection. We also have to take into account how much clear coat you have on your vehicle for us to work with.
Before we start polishing, we’ll first measure your paint thickness to ensure we have room to work with. Then we’ll consider if it’s worth it to try and remove a scratch while still trying to retain plenty of clear coat.
Why do we do this? As we polish paint, we’re also removing clear coat (albeit less than a mill). If we remove too much of it, your paint won’t last as long over the years or worst case scenario, we burn through the clear coat. The only way to fix this is by getting the panel repainted.
That’s why it’s important for us to do a proper inspection to determine what is best for the vehicle.
This is applicable for newer vehicles as well. You might have just purchased a vehicle with less than 100 miles, but the car has been in transit for months before it touched down at the dealership. We’ve seen plenty of new vehicles with paint defects, heavy swirls, and thin paint.
Regardless of the the type of vehicle or however old it is, we’ll make sure it’s properly taken care of.
And if you really want to change the appearance of your vehicle, we also offer vinyl wrapping and window tinting services.
The Paint Correction Process
Step 1: Clean Wheels, Tires, & Fenders. We’ll start off by cleaning the wheel faces, wheel barrels, tires, and inner fender liner
Step 2: Foam Hand Wash. The vehicle gets foamed down and washed. We’ll also clean the jambs, gas cap, clean the emblems, and more.
Step 3: Chemically Remove Iron Fallout. To ensure a clean surface, we remove iron particles from your paint via a chemical decontamination (this is when the chemical turns purple).
Step 4: Clay Bar Treatment. The next step to a clean surface is a clay bar treatment to remove any remaining embedded dirt and debris. Your paint will feel buttery smooth after this.
Step 9: Dress Tires & Plastic: All exterior plastic and rubber surfaces will be dressed with a water-based, non-sling dressing. This includes the tires, fenders, trim, etc…
Step 10: Clean Exterior Windows & Mirrors. To tie it all together, the detail is completed with cleaning the exterior glass and mirrors.
Step 11: Final Inspection & Touch Ups: The detail is finally complete and we’ll give it one last inspection to see if there’s any small details we missed before turning it into you.
Step 5: Tape Off Necessary Areas. Things like the emblems, trim, or door handles will be taped off to not damage or stain while we polish.
Step 6: Cutting Phase. This is the heaviest part of the process as this is where we remove a majority of the defects with machine polishing.
Step 7: Polishing Phase. This step is no longer about removing imperfections but more-so on refining the leftover haze from the cutting step and bringing out the gloss.
Step 8: Apply Paint Protection: Whether you’re getting a ceramic coating or a sealant, every vehicle is going to get some form of protection.

Paint Correction FAQs
-
Yes! This is a fantastic option to protect your paint from the weather and add a layer of gloss. The ceramic coating is at an additional cost.
-
The primary factor to how long the results will last is based on the maintenance care after the service.
If you take it through a $10 car wash and they use low quality wash mitts and towels with improper methods, you’ll get all those swirls back instantly.
Whether it’s you learning to do it yourself, hiring someone to do it, or bringing it back to us, proper maintenance will extend the results for months and years.

It can take one to three days to complete. It just depends on the size of your vehicle, the condition that it’s in, and what you’re looking to get.

There’s a big difference between the two! A wax does not remove any swirls or scratches from your paint. It only hides the very light swirls and can be completed in a few hours. Paint correction actually removes the swirls in your paint. This is what makes the paint shine like crazy. It also takes a lot more time and energy to complete.
